What do you do when it has snowed back home and there aren’t any mountains to ski? You build a snowman and run it over of course.

My brother Joe and I built up a real handsome looking snowman, stuck a cap on him, then set about plotting his demise. We got our hands on an old Toyota, and although she seemed a sturdy beast, I’m not sure the Rav4 would have survived a full blooded collision with a sturdy snowman built by the Reynolds boys.

To mitigate potential damage we caved out his back, so by the time you see the explosive finale our snowman is almost 2D. This would mean that the car, and Joe behind the wheel would emerge from this unscathed.

The camera we had was an iPhone 4S, so the zooms to see our concerned snowman’s face were created in Premiere Pro. It means the quality suffers, but for a short clip like this, the main thing was capturing the impact before the snow melted.

Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries adds to the charging effect of the 4×4. Fair play to the snowman too, he took the hit like a champ.
